CrossChat browser extension v1.0.1 · Effective: 2026-10-19 (no substantive change to the terms since v1.0.0)

1. What this is

CrossChat is a browser extension that drafts multilingual buyer replies inside your own customer-service web pages. It provides drafts only and never sends messages automatically; you review every draft and send it manually. Installing or using the extension means you accept these terms.

2. Free to use; BYOK

During the launch validation period the extension itself is free, has no feature limits, and contains no in-app purchases. If you use BYOK with your own Volcengine Ark API key, model-call charges are settled directly between you and the model provider and are unrelated to the extension developer. If paid hosted quotas are offered in the future, pricing and terms will be shown clearly before purchase.

3. Acceptable use

• Use the extension only with stores/customer-service accounts you are authorized to operate, for lawful customer communications;
• Review every draft before sending. You are fully responsible for what is sent — AI drafts can be wrong, outdated, or inappropriate;
• Do not use the extension for unlawful activity, spam or harassment, buyer deception, or to circumvent the rules of the platforms you use;
• Do not reverse-engineer the extension to bypass routing, quota or compliance guardrails, or to remove privacy and copyright notices.

4. AI drafts and compliance checks

Drafts are produced by local rules, a built-in knowledge base, or third-party large language models and may be inaccurate. The extension's compliance checks (warnings about off-platform payment, exchanged contact details, review incentives, and similar risks) are assistance only: they are not legal or platform-compliance advice and cannot catch every risk. The extension never clicks a platform's send button and performs no account actions.

5. Third-party services

Your use may involve: Volcengine Ark (model requests in BYOK mode only, under its terms), the Chrome Web Store (distribution and updates), and GitHub Pages (hosting of this site). Since v1.0.1 the extension contacts no analytics service and has no other third-party recipient. These terms neither grant rights on behalf of those parties nor replace theirs.

6. Intellectual property

The extension source code is licensed under the LICENSE in the public repository. Everything under your accounts — your knowledge base, buyer conversations and related content — remains yours.

7. Disclaimer

The extension is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted/error-free operation. Because the extension never sends messages, you alone bear responsibility for conversation outcomes, including transactions, reviews, or account actions taken by a platform.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the extension. Aggregate liability is capped at the greater of what you paid for the extension (currently zero) or USD 1.

9. Changes and termination

These terms may be updated; updates are posted here with a new version number, and continued use constitutes acceptance. You may stop at any time by uninstalling the extension, after which the browser removes its local data.
